2 years and 4 months
Yes, 2 years & 4 months, 121+ weeks, 851 days - then, if all goes well, I will be in position to retire from huge, giant xxx corporation after 34+ years on the job.
More and more I am trying to figure out what to do then. Consulting is what I keep hearing from co-workers - draw retirement but continue the game. But I am tired of the game, it is not fun anymore. For a long time, most of the 30+ years it was, but not now. So what should I do? Work something new? Volunteer for something? If so, what.
Or maybe nothing. Move to some retirement place somewhere and just hang out. Flirt with the 60+ single women, learn bridge, shuffle board? Sounds deadly, but who knows, maybe it would grow on me.
Well there are still 2 years and 4 months to decide.

Travel!!!
Money - but then there is a lot to see in the U.S. Maybe a 6 month RV trip? I come from a long-lived family, got to plan for savings to last another 25-30 years, plus they keep talking about people living longer and longer. I won't see it, but someone in there 20s could live to 110-120.
Become a photographer?
I hear a lot of bloggers need help with their HNT's
Great idea, Madame. Can I practice on you? But then you already have more volunteers for picture taking and more than you can fit in.
I'd fix you up with my mom, but I'm afraid she'd wear you out.
:-)
There are so many things to do. You could always sign up with a temp service! Who knows? You could pick and choose assignments, and keep your hand in the game.

Get in your car......and drive. Look for the fun and unusual. Then post what you see!
34 years..........that's amazing and something to be proud of, even if you are tired of the game!!!
Skip the shuffleboard and go down to Costa Rica or somewhere and bartend and live cheap and meet interesting people and write a novel and learn magic tricks.
I say travel to lands unknown =) meet hot sexy foreigners that require the language of love to communicate .... grrrrrr !!
